“Bas for me was more than a teacher, he was a mentor and an inspiration personally and professionally. He was capable of working with a big group and still give full attention to each of us. He is a great emphatic listener and is very open to share his experiences as an entrepreneur. Overall, he became the best teacher I’ve ever had.”
~ Roxana De Sousa – Master Student Health Food Innovation Management – University of Maastricht
I facilitate courses for Universities in the United States, Australia and Europe. The curriculum is designed with experts in the fields of Entrepreneurship & Innovation. I acknowledge many universities already have curriculums in place. I’m very flexible in working with pre-determined learning outcomes and topics that need to be addressed. My teaching style is non-negotiable. I teach based on scientific principles. Key pillars of my style are Root-cause analysis, problem & experience based learning & ease of approachability.
In short, I do not care for students passing a course if the acquired knowledge does not stick. My teaching style is built to enhance the durability of knowledge. Students should understand the eventual use of that which they are learning by means of practical examples. They should understand how the material applies to actual problems they learn to solve for, and they do so by reaching beyond the constraints of the curriculum. Typically, 50% of all course material to be studied is supplied organically by students during the course and peer-assessed for credibility and usability.
